Ude/gouki Help Much Appreciated
« on: July 02, 2004, 07:39:00 PM »

I have been searching through this forum for a decent amount of time for an alternate way to get EvoX onto my box. I have a halo special edition (1.2) box and was gonna use gouki's method to get it on thur, the i started to read. people talking about timeloops and such. then i saw a post where a person said use UDE so i read summore and found that you can do 1/2 gouki 1/2 UDE and now i need help.

*i wouldn't be posting another post if i could find the answer. it'd be alot easier withe the search working.

no it doesn't and it would be better for you to not use those bert and ernie fonts. The first part of the gouki tutorial is not that bad. It explains how you can get acces to your xbox hd with the use of a hacked gamesave. When you get to that part where you have acces to the hd you should stop with that tut and install the UDE. more info on this on the dashboard exploit section on top in the pinned section.

whoops too bad for you that you have that kernel. you cannot install ANY dashboard exploit (font and audio hacks). You will only be able to use the gamesave exploit to get into evox.

yeah it's in the first post of the nkpatcher topic and is now updated to nkpatcher 6. Just copy the text to a notepad and save as nkpatcher.b64 (not a txt file). Download iceows and use that to extract the b.64 file. The result of that can be xtracted with winrar and the result of that also with winrar. Note that the nkpatcher is not an exploit but is just an app that lets you run unsigned code. You can only run it from a gamesave and you can only run stuff from the hd.

Sorry to say this but you can't use the UDE on the 5838 kernel. The ude is a dashboard exploit and those will not work on any kernels 5713 and higher. The nkpatcher doesn't change anything about that.

Again there is NO way you can install a permanent software exploit on the xbox to make it ato boot to evox. I'm sure you misread or misunderstood that part. You now have two options: 1 use the gamesave every time you want to play stuff of the hd.
2: install a chip with a new 1.6 compatible bios.

i got that idea from the xboxlinux site. they have this chart that tells you what version you  have by the serial # and then it said "if you have a special edition xbox(translucent green) then you have a 1.2" maybe i'll just put xbox linux on it and that's it. quik q, if i did xboxlinux w/ nkpatcher do u think i could run backed up games or shood i just use the ma exploit to get into evo x. and if i do the second 1, do i have to leave in the ma dvd  the whole time(cuz that wood suk!) thnx again al u paople! ur the besat.

Well that might have been an old chart. Your kernel is from a 1.6 xbox.

no you have to leave the game in the xbox. the second you push the eject button the xbox will reset. you can only transfer stuff from your pc to your xbox harddrive and play it from there.
