Halo SE?  I've go the same thing.  You can still run backups/homebrew from your hdd, you just cant use an audio/font hack.  For example, I used the MA gamesave exploit to launch EvoX.  With EvoX up, you can ftp backups/homebrew to your E:/games (may have to create this dir) and run them from EvoX.  You just can backup games from the disk to the XB hdd, because you have to leave the MA (or 007 or SC, ect.) disk in the drive.

Wrong... you probably have a 1.6 if you can't install an exploit. Kernel 5101 allows you to install EVERY exploit if you wish (Fonts & Audio)...

Nope. The audio exploit REQUIRES the 4920 dash.
Go with UDE if you want the latest dash exploited

If you want more possibilities, you can downgrade your dash quite easily if you manage to find the Slayers 2.5 package (look for the torrent file).  It comes with D: 4920, which will work with most exploits.

You wouldn't actually be using Slayers 2.5.  Its a package for setting up an entire harddrive.  All you will need is the C partition from that package which includes the 4920 Dash.  Follow these steps (assuming you have FTP access to Xbox):

1) Download Slayers 2.5 from ftp(torrent) or irc(full)

2) Copy the entire contents of your C drive from Xbox to your PC as a backup

3) Run the Slayers 2.5 which will extract a number of files, including the .ISO file which we're interested in

4) Download and install Craxion 4.0 from ftp

5) Load Craxion and select Extract ISO from pop-up menu.  Select to slayer ISO file and then point it to any directory on your PC for extraction

6) After having backed up your Xbox C drive, delete the C drive contents through FTP access

7) Copy the contents from Slayers' \SYSTEM\ALL\C to your Xbox C drive

8) Reboot Xbox

For that, there are numerous tutorials.  You'll need to use one of the Mech Assault or 007 gamesave exploits to get FTP access.

Any gamesave tutorial will show you how to load the save. As long as you have an EvoX save running, you can FTP.
