HAHA nice setup! hehe, ok well i am still having trouble geting the file on the harddrive, what excactly am i putting on there to have FTP access through my xbox, i know that i need to have a .zip file, and there is a certain order of things, but i dont nkow that order, i asm a newb at computers, so help out please, and then once i get it i can help you out with MA, because it might work for me, and then i can see what you are doing wrong, because after i get files on my HD it shouldnt take long for me to do this, because i have been studying this shit for about 2 weeks, and i have the process memorized in my head, except for this one part, please just give me a briefing, i have looked all around...so, help please, it shouldn't talk too long, eh?

I have a feeling that it's to do with the video chip of your Xbox, as you are running quite an old package in conjunction with a brand new 'box. I can't give you specifics unfortunately, as my memory has gone completely blank and I don't know much about the MechInstaller package.

Note that it's unlikely you'll be able to use the UDE, Audio or Font exploits with this Xbox as it's likely to have the newer kernels on.

it says that i need the following Files, and i click the link, and then it comes up as an error, so hsould i just trust that io have all the materials, i mean i think i do, but i dont see how EvoX just magically comes up to the screen when i havent eve loaded anything on to the memory card, is this wierd, maybe that link had something that said 'now load the EvoX onto the mem card' i dont know help, esspecially you -BlazinKahn-

oh yeah one last thing, since this is the newer version does that mean that it is better in any way? or is it just new security features and should I just return it and go buy a used one to make this trick work?

okay so I continued to try it between different versions and with and without XBOX live updates, here is my progress. Now if I try to "Install linux" it starts but gives me an error and say to try restoring the dashboard. Restoring the Dashboard does nothing but freeze the Xbox. Emergency Linux works but i dont know what to do with this. keep in mind that this progress is with the older xbox not the newer one. The newer one is hopeless.

Any Suggestions for a solution or if I should just get a mod chip would be greatly appreciated.

The MechInstaller will try to install a font hack that requires dash 4920. I dont know if the installer is supposed to be able to force a downgrade, but if you manually downgrade to 4920 yourself it should work.
Get the 4920 c-drive from Slayers Evox.

First you need slayers installer 2.5

Then you need ftp access to get your hd password and key, backup of eprom, and backup of entire contents of c: drive.

the you would errase all of c: and replace it with a 4920 dash build c partition off slayers installer.

This is over simplified but the general idea.

The slayers disk is only available on peer to peer networks like emule and bittorrent.

I got it and the install.pdf files where corrupt so I cant tell you in depth on how to use it
