Clarification About Gamesave Exploit

So far, it's impossible for any new dashboard hacks to work on the newer Xboxes... the internal kernel is preventing an exploitable dash.

As for linking, he means have a way to execute it, like using EvoX.

And as for the retail thing, if you don't mess anything up (files or the EEPROM chips) it'll work perfectly retail.

Thanks Blank, I appreciate the help smile.gif

Two more questions... what do you mean, link to it on the gamesave?  How do you do that?  (again, sorry for my newbness)  - Also, am I correct in thinking that with this method that my Xbox would otherwise boot up normaly with a retail game and all?  Having all the other stuff on the hard drive really affect it's normal operation, right?

One last question in case anyone might know... does anyway know if these new V1.6's are likely to be able to be hacked at some point?  I realize no one has a crystal ball or anything, but I didn't know if what kept it from being hacked has a concievable workaround that maybe just hasn't been figured out yet, or if it's pretty much iron-clad at this point, they've fixed it too well.

Usually you edit the evox.ini file in the gamesave (Assuming it comes with EvoX) to point to where you put the games & apps. If you make folders such as E:\Games & E:\Apps, EvoX will auto add what's installed inside of them to the list (as it checks to see if anything is in these folders). Your Xbox will boot fine, just as a normal Xbox (Reading originals, going to the Xboxdash, etc). The only thing that can cause conflict is if you delete files you shouldn't or load the Xbox up with so much stuff it cannot cache itself or save gamesaves/soundtracks.

The 1.6 will be cracked, eventually. They are working on bios as we speak for modchips. TSOP flashing is technically not possible because 1.6s have no TSOP to flash. Softmods will probably not happen until they can figure a work around with the newer kernels.

Got it.  Much appreciated.  Reading and learning about .xbe signing and everything now.  One last question, it looks like everything else I either see a tutorial for or can only learn through trial and error.  I know that I need to buy either a MS Brand or Madkatz memory card, and I read about how to make my own homemade usb/Xbox controller cable, but as far the the Exploitable game... what do I need to look for?  I mean, I know the three are 007:Agent Under Fire, Mechassault, and Splinter Cell, but are any of them better than the others?  Any advice on finding one that will actually work with the gamesave exploit?  I've read in here people saying avoid at all costs GOTY and Platinum Editions, and then I've also read that some people were able to to use the Platinum Editions.  There was even a mention of a post where they listed serial numbers to likely Exploitable ones... which if it actually exists.. I'll be shocked cause I just spent and hour and a half searching through these posts.  I know a lot of people said to just rent it, since a lot of the rental places have old copies.. but that won't so much work for me obviously as I will need it to boot the hack each time.  I figured I would try to buy a used verision at EB or Gamestop, but was hoping someone would have some pointers as to what to look for.

I personally recommend Mechassault. Not only is it a XBL 1.0 game where you can get dashboard 4920 if needed from upgrading, it's overall, a better game. The general rule of thumb is to stay away from Platinum Hits, GOTY editions, and XBL bundled releases. However, the correct MA Serial Number is: MS02301L. If you cannot find any luck in stores, try eBay. smile.gif

with this game save exploit, do you have to load it every time, with the original game(Mech assault or 007:auf)?  and if so, then can you use xbox live normally

Gamesaves must be loaded everytime by the original game--if you want it to run from your hdd w/o the game, a dashboard exploit needs to be installed. As long as you don't alter any of the files on the Xbox or load up PBL from the gamesave and attempt to on XBL, you shouldn't have a problem. smile.gif

i cant seem to get the font hack to work, i have an xbox live tab on my original, and i saved evox to my gamesave(bios is set to it) i used signed pheonix bios loader 1.3  and on my c drive it has xbox.xtf and xbox book.xtf in c and in the fonts folder and does not have a default.xbe. what should i do? and should get the mafonts if they work?

Default.xbe should be whatever dashboard/application you want to run (PBL, EvoX, Avalaunch, etc). You should try UDE instead...
