Ok, with the M$ memory card, the extreme green box is exploitable as expected. But it's pretty useless except for playing movies, as all it can play is stuff I can FTP or stream to it - nothing from CD as it reboots on eject and the 007 disk must be in in order to run the exploit.

Yup, that's the one. I got a free copy of ESPN NHL 2004 thrown in with it @ future shop.

The 1.6 boxes have a higher kernel version, don't they??

How badly do Xboxes wear out - I'm thinking of swapping it for a friend's older box, are the refurbs likely to be in much better condition than his box?

So all XBoxes except the 1.6 are TSOP flashable? I don't really want to open up the box, especially if it did turn out to be 1.6.

I haven't taken apart a box before, so I don't know this - when peeling back stickers etc... is it possible to return it to "mint" condition, so it could be returned if it's a 1.6? Or do they tear/not stick back on/etc... can they tell I've opened it.

... been away for a couple of weeks, but FYI, I flashed the TSOP and it worked perfectly.  Not only that, it worked perfectly for my friend too (he bought the same bundle)!

P.S.  I was worried about soldering the motherboard until I had the case open and saw just how close together the solder-points are.  It's so easy.
