Can you boot games?

If so you can just use a gamesave exploit to gain ftp access.

Hotswap then access the drive from your PC to restore the system files from you backup.

I recommend using a special linux and not HDD Driver - it's most likely gonna crash on you!

Look at the first link of my sig. for info on xboxhdm, and the last link (second post) for an easy way to hotswap. If you had your eeprom your could have just build the new 80 Gb drive for the xbox, but still you should be able to get back on track...

Idots is correct, hotswap it, its your only choice. The next time install the audio hack so that you atleast can boot games.

Idot, I'm still not able to access my xbox drive using your utility.  When I boot my xbox with the DVD drive disconnected I get error 12 instead of error 11.  It is still a DVD related message according to the codes listing on this site.

Should my drive still be unlocked with this message?

Ok. Feel like I'm talking to myself here, but maybe this will help somebody else out.

I was able to get into my xbox hardrive using Idot's tool.  I don't know what I did differently, but after about 20 tries I was finally able to access the drive via hotswapping.  Didn't do anything different, I guess the moon was in proper alignment.

So, at first I used xbrowser to copy xboxdash.xbe to the box /C.  On startup I got the same error.  Hotswapped again.  Rebuilt the C drive using xboxhd.  Again, no love.

There's no explaination for this, as the files came from backup, and I haven't modified them, but the fact remains that my box isn't working.

What is the next step?  Download Slayer's disc?  It has a known working C drive, right?
