dashboard version? if your putting it with phoenix bios then your gonna have to downgrade dashboards.

you can load evox w/ out pbl, but it's really much better if you do use pbl. if your getting the black screen, is it giving you error 21? cause i'm guessing that your using a AR memcard. those are very buggy. i'd go w/ a m$ memcard. make sure the save is .zipped. then just downgrade your dash to add exploits and pbl.

The problem is because of the Dashboard u need to lower the version to 4920

I also have a similar problem. Accidently upgraded to D:1.00.5659.01 and now i can't get the run linux under MA campaign to load. I just says unable to load press a to continue. Any suggestions. I can't downgrade my dash until i have some sort of exploit that will let me ftp to the box.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I'm having the exact same problem as swoosh (and he never got an answer!) My xbox:
K: 4034
D: 5659

I've tried Ldots' UDE installer and "Emergency Linux" from xbox-linux using both Action Replay and Ozxmemory explorer to copy to a 128Mb flash drive. My copy of Mech Assault is NOT the Platinum Hits edition. No matter what I try, I get "Unable to load" in Mech Assault.

My question: does "unable to load" in MA mean I have a bad transfer, or that I (somehow) have an updated version of MA, or that I must downgrade?

Thanks a lot. I've been trying to hack this box for the last 3 days straight, and it's driving me a little nutty.

using the gamesave exploit on a 5960 dash will work. if you are getting 'unable to load run linux' it is probably something to do with your MA save. try going into your memory and deleting all of your MA saves. then reload the gamesave hack onto your box and try running linux.

i know that with UDE and the on/off script i have for it, when i deactivate UDE and run live i have to update. when i want to reinstall live i load up MA and try loading the gamesave hack but get 'unable to load run linux'. i deleted the saves and afterwards the hack worked.

yeah when i delete the mechwarrior or whatever the default save it it does automatically make it again.

but try deleting the downloaded content. i think that may be causing you the error.

No, but I'm not sure I can... I can only "reliably" use Ozxmemory on my 128MB stick, which if I understand correctly writes images, not files. Of course I say "reliably" because it may be corrupting the image, which would explain my troubles. I'm shooting blind here though because Ozxmemory comes with no documentation, and their boards are down, so I could be wrong about that. Anybody with Ozx experience care to enlighten me?
