4979 on the audio hack with 1.3 works fine for the focus chip

However 4979 on a non focus chip box with 1.3 doesn't work it does work with 1.3.5 though

Did you set up the boot.cfg file and the bios needs to be in the bios folder which has to be in the same folder/drive as PBL 1.3.5

Signing xbe is probably the ONLY option for you. Or you should buy a chip. You can find your kernelnumber in ms-dashboard under system info.

To find the kernel version, either:

1. Load up the MS Dashboard.  Go to Settings -> System Info.  Wait for the text to scroll to the bottom and look at the numbers:

K: 1.00.xxxx.01
D: 1.00.dddd.01

The "xxxx" is your kernel version.

-OR-

2. Load up EvoX without going through PBL (be sure to sign it and rename it to default.xbe).  Go to System Settings and look for the kernel info (it should be in blue).

My kernel version is:

k:1.00.5530.01
d:1.00.4920.01

Is there any history of problems with the pbl on mashines with this kernel??

as far as i know your only options are to sign everything and use the fonts or audio hack, or just install the chip
