Xbox Reformat Code

My friend works for MS.  he says he knows of a code u can input with the contoller on the xbox where u can actually format the HDD to factory condition.  im going to call him and ask if he got it yet.  anyone know alot of good uses for this repspond here and let me know.

By the way, the code may no longer function if there are files on the harddrive that the ms dashboard does not recognize.  This happened to me.

mutha trucka:  Did you have (extra, modified) files on the C: partition?  It would be interesting to know
whether the MS dash only checks for this on the C: partition or on the other partitions too...

I got the code by reporting that my dashboard was displaying some strange looking characters in the sound track & gamesave menu, but was displaying normal english on the main screen. You have to call MS & tell them whats wrong with your xbox. Then you tell them your name & xbox serial #(if your not registered). After that they give you a code to enter at the dashboard system info screen. Codes are different for each version of xbox. It only formats the E partition.
