Are you using the Phoenix BIOS Loader?

If not its probably a minor side effect of all the kernel hacking, searching, and rewriting the hack does.

Yeah the AUF hack doesn't have Phoenix Bios loader already enabled. thats what you need to do is to get that installed. If you make it so that PBL loads first then EVOX then you will never see the flashing light. If you Install PBL and give it a shortcut in EVOX then you will see the Flashing light untill you run PBL. Then you don't have to sign all those files anymore. My Suggestion would to be to add PBL as a application that EVOX starts first untill you get used to how everything works then later on Install it to C: drive so it loads first instead of EVOX.

Okay, a few things:

- If you have the gamesave on your hard drive (which is necessary in order to use it), then you don't need to borrow your friend's memory card back.

- You should never delete the save game, because it's your back door if you ever screw anything up.

- Any exploit or homebrew can easily change the pattern of your LED.  They may do so "for fun", or for demonstration purposes, or in order to indicate that it's working.  If your EvoX seems to be working fine, then it's nothing to worry about.

- PBL only "fixes" the LED because it allows you to set the LED to whatever pattern you want (in the boot.cfg file).  By default, it's solid green.

Xannax:  That's a great idea, I'll definitely set it up to load from evox in case my first attempt is not flawless (very likely!!!)

Grospolina:  I originally wanted to keep the save game on the hard drive for that very reason, but when I actually wanted to play AUF and save a game, evox decided it was a good time to start up instead of saving a new game.  So I deleted the save game through FTP...  If there is a way to be able to play AUF and keep the exploit save game, then I will definitely get that memory card back and stick it on.  In regards to the LED, everything is working properly and your explanation of LED demos makes sense to me.  I'll not worry about it anymore.

I guess my only remaining issue is to be able to play and save AUF while keeping the exploit on the HD.

Thanks for all the excellent input!

Yes, I've heard that the gamesave sometimes makes the led orange as part of the hack. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

You know i would try to load the hack from the memory card in auf to see if that would work first. Doesn't suppose to and i dought it would load but you might get lucky. that don't work..time to hot swap.

You can't load the gamesave from the memory card because there's no option to do so.

There isn't much you can do without opening it.  It looks like the only thing you can do is hotswap or unlock (well, you could also chip it).

not sure if his system will be able to read your drive if it is locked, you need that key from your eeprom or from the evox backup

as far as i know for Mechassult or splinter cell you need to copy the gamesave hack to your hard drive
and make sure they are the only saves
