if you can ftp in through a gamesave hack, then you can restore your dashboard from your backup of your prior dashboard. you did make backups right?

yes, boot into the ms dashboard, go to system info, wait for text to scroll and it will have 2 numbers

K: 1.xx
D: xxxx

the D: is your dashboard version.

supposedly there is a copy of the version 4920 dashboard on slayers disk (not sure where to get this but maybe the usual places or newsgroups) but I've not tried that

i have seen elswhere on here that the two files needing to be replaced is the entire c: drive, and then also the xboxdashdata.XXXX folder and xboxdash.xbe file. can someone please give a definative answer on this ? i have the slayer ISO , and cannot find the dashdata, or xboxdash.xbe file on it. what program should i use to browse the ISO ? i used craxtion, it seemed to "un-iso" it, but i cannot find the files. all help and followup posts are appreciated !

When I downgraded my dash .... All I did was replace the xboxdashdata.XXXX folder and the xboxdash.xbe file.

hello all...this is my first post. I just recently decided to attemp to soft-mod my xbox...
i have the following:
Xbox Version 1.0
no mod at all
I played some xbox live and I have a new dashboard (5659)...
To get the Mordon's Audio Installer to work, I need to downgrade the dashboard to 4920. I have the ISO for slayers..but I can't burn it b/c my Sony DVD burner has a problem burning to CD-RW. Is there another way to downgrade the dash?

Even if I am able to burn the ISO for slayers installer, will my xbox be able to be use Slayer's installer given that it's not modded already?

do a search on it on the forum.. i can't remember off the top of my head what post it is in but I did it to my box and my friend's box this weekend.. I am running evox off font exploit now and it works great.

I had the new dash now I'm running 4920

Slayers Auto Install 2.5 comes with the proper Dashboard you should use with the bert and ernie Reloaded exploit. Search for Slayer with the Search feature. On where to get it. Be sure to back up your dashboard. Btw the audio exploit works with it also. I have 3 successful boxes with this method.

PS. Font Exploit is better if you know how to fix the Clock Loop. Ethernet Cord will do the trick
