I have been reading. And I don't have ANY .bin files or bios folder on the Xbox, so I wouldn't know where to put the new BIOS.

Okay, I think I see that at least...you put it in c: and make sure that boot.cfg references it. But what BIOSes work to clear the video problem? So far I tried X2_4978_bfm.zip with no luck.

the only 2 bios that support the new Focus Video chip are EvoX M7 and X4979

I have tryed both on a new October Xbox (I guess 1.5) and they don't work...after PBl loads up...black screen.

Possible that M$ has make a new Xbox version?

Also, when the Evox is all screwy, I've made out "MS Dashboard" and tried it. However, I get error 21 (video's clear again, though). Hopefully that's an easier fix.

Grr. Tried 4979.06_256k.bin, 4979.67_256k.bin, both of those made into 1MB, EvoxM7.bin, and that one made into 1 MB. They all stay at a flickering black screen after the PBL screen. The 1MB ones were made with make1mb.bat in the X2.4979 package, which does copy /b {256k}+{same 256k}+{same 256k}+{same 256k} %2. Put it in C: as xboxrom.bin

Something I'm missing here?

I dont think they are the bfm bioses, get the bfm version and you dont need to change the size.

If running pbl 1.3.5 there will be a bioses folder somewhere, it may be on drive e:

If using pbl 1.3 try and find an xboxrom.bin file and put yours where that is.

Bingo. Wasn't aware of BFM. Thanks, sorry for hijacking the thread.

Now to figure out if I can stream my PC's DVD-ROM to XBMP...

imho if pbl loads and then it goes black that means the bios is not able to handle the new grafic chip ! if it blinks red grens the bios is not good at all, with the bios file i mentioned.... it simply boots to evox nicely

it runs with both pbl 1.3 or 1.3.5

THE BIOS MUST BE FROM THE REPACK DISTRO !

I can confirm clixo method does NOT work on my september box.

ddaddy I've tried the 4979.67_bfm_256k.bin and it's a no go just like all the others.

This is not true, when i had a problem with the new focus video chip, everything loaded fine but the screen was all garbled at evox. With a recent bios, once loaded, evox and games work fine.

We have a new problem on our hands regarding certain september boxes and some made after that.

Got a late August Xbox the yesterday. I installed PBL 1.3 Signed and Bert and Ernie Reloaded but I get all the flickering even when I boot to a game.So I have two questions: I got PBL 1.3.5i but I am a little confused as fa as installation so is there a tutorial? and number two is Does anyone have a good audio exploit hack that works on this version?
