no it's true, go to the xbox backup forum and read, or try to run crimson skies with a softmodded xbox.  I cant get it to work, I even bought the game and it wont even load with the original DVD.

It works fine for people with mod chips, keep in mind this is only the beginning, soon all your games you buy you wont be able to backup to the hdd with a softmod,, they are garbage now.

I read that thread you linked, and there is nothing in there indicating that there is any protection against exploits in the game.  The only thing that pertains to what you posted in this thread is a similar assumption you posted in the other thread.  Essentially, you're jumping to conclusions for no good reason.

Even if it is the case, I wouldn't call them useless.  Im watching divx movies on my XBox.  Thanks to a softmod.  Im playing MAME on my XBox, thanks to the exploit.  Ive played Quake 2, Duke Nukem, and Rise of the Triad on my XBox, thanks to the useless softmod.  If you're only using it for bootlegging, then your shit out of luck I guess, but for people who just want run cool homebrew stuff, the exploit is a great, cheap, and safe alternative to a real modchip.

yeah this was all said before with Enter The Matrix and conflict desert storm 2 all we had to do was switch to evoxd6 bios conflict desert storm apparently fucked peaple up with modchips aswell and they couldnt upgrade their modchips a lot of them or flash them so they had to use pbl to load a new bios meaning a modchip user had to turn to what us softmod users have meaning modchips suck and so does crimson skies p.si will test it later and if it boots for me under another bios and plays perfect get ready for a BIG flaming.

if it does get verified, i will probably stop attempting to use a soft hack, and just go with a modchip and a switch.

LMAO, and to the user who watches Divx's and plays Rise of the Triad, that's pretty useless if you ask me.  Shew,, im glad I kept my Matrix around, so im not stuck playing Mame and Rise of the Triad, what you dont understand is you cant even play Crimson Skies with the original.
