Gamesave Not Loading

Hi,
I am trying to run either one of the savegame exploits.
When I try to load it up from the game (Mechassault) (Campaign -> Run Linux) I get the "screen of death" (your xbox requires service bla bla..)
On one occasion ( I tried doing it a few times) the screen started flickering (and flickered for a long time) but no Evox dashboard came up.
I updated the box to LIVE with the CD but made sure that the internet was disconnected to avoid MS's unrequested update service.
Same thing with 007agentunderfire, when I try to load up the savegame I get the death screen. UDATA is fine, folder structure seems OK.
All files are from xbins' ftp, I tried also from another source [Gouki's archive] (basically same files but just in case I tried)
I am coping files using AR.
XBOS Kernel is 4817, Dash is 4920

Any suggestions?
