USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!

you can upgrade it without a chip, but you need to do a TON OF WORK using a computer... it's relatively easy if you have a chipbox to configure the new hdd to put into the non-chipbox... use config magic.

i have a software exploit using the font hack and an 80 gig hdd. no chip

the eeprom of the xbox must match the eeprom of the hdd.

you can flash different eeproms to the xbox using a chip, but this is impossible without one.

if the eeprom isn't written to the non-chip xbox and then locked, you will get (i believe) an error 6 (hdd failure)

so the hdd eeprom has to match the xbox's
and the only way to write the eeprom to the hdd is to lock it.

therefore: the hdd in a non-chip xbox MUST be locked.
