Yeah, but how do you boot the slayers disc with no modchip after you install the hdd?

a mod chip does not require the hdd to be locked OR have the same eeprom as the xbox.

this method would not work becuase the eeprom of the new hard drive would not match the oneflashed on the xbox motherboard.

you NEED to use a CHIP-modded xbox to write the eeprom of the old hdd to the new one and then lock it.

i discovered all this the hard way!

i have an 80gig in my software modded box.

all that tutorial does is use a computer to unlock the xbox hdd instead of a chipbox.

using the computer is A LOT harder than using a chipbox with ConfigMagic.
