Each Sector is 0x200 long (512 bytes), so you push -> 3 times and add that to the start of the sector in the right column.  Doing the math 200 + 200 + 200 = 600.

I am stuck on Step 5.   Liveinfo does not see any drives, all it says is Physical Drive 0   and in the drop box there is Physical Drive 1 2 3.

What do I do?

The drive I am trying to use is WD800JB

thanks

Liveinfo doesn't "see" my external usb hdd. I'm running win2000pro on a 500 mhz notebook. Liveinfo "sees" the hdd in the notebook just fine. Is this because Liveinfo bypasses all device drivers and therefor isn't aware of the external usb drive, or am I doning something wrong?

So...has anyone done this successfully with Winhex? ANyone else that is? Is it easier than the other way? If so...which steps do you skip? And which do you keep?

Do you just clone the XBOX HDD right onto the new one? Then lock the new one? Is it really that simple?  blink.gif

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, I used WinHex and it's much easier then HDD Driver. You can skip the hdprepar thing (not needed) als you can skip step 6 fully. Then just load WinHex and select Clone Drive andthen you need to lock your new drive with the password you got from liveinfo. And done smile.gif

And Heteros:

The Maxtor 6Y120L0 IS lockable! I have it running in my xbox right now by following this tutorial! Try to connect it as primary master to your PC and your windows drive as primary slave.

Ok... Thank you all in advance for the Help....

I have the Maxtor 6Y120L0  It is currently set up as the Primary Master, (bootable secondary master)  atapaw.exe says: "it's Frozen", Live info says:, "Locking: Not Locked, Frozen"  I've done the Hex Edit, Copied the XHDD,  the Unlockx.exe says: "it's not a lockable drive", HDlock says: "Device not ready"    HELP!! I know this drive will work! I also spent the last 9 hours (while I was at work) Doing a zero reset full drive wipe... Thank you again THIS DANG THING WILL WORK!  blink.gif
