Eject Not Working Properly After Mod...
« on: August 07, 2004, 08:27:00 PM »

Today I modded my friend's 1.5 with an Aladdin advance chip (Executer 2 BIOS). The mod went fine, except for soldering the R3G's (resistors for the power of the chip and the eject button. The two SMD resistors came of the board and the contacts on the PCB were damaged. I managed to rebuild the entire system with wires and loose resistors. Everything works fine now  (even the chip), except for the eject button.

I can use the eject button once, after using it, it simply won't respond anymore. If I turn of the console for about 10 minutes, the button works again (once) and then: no response! You get the picture I guess....

I already triple checked the entire wiring for possible shorted circuits or wiring faults (and so did my friend), but everything seems to be in perfect place. My multimeter confirms what we see.

So now my question: what would be going on here? I sure can't see it.... :(
