Do you have to have the cable hooked up to a network? I tried just plugging a cable in the back and it didn't do anything. I don't know, because if you don't have AV cables plugged in, the Xbox startes flashing the orange light. If you plug the cables in (not even up to the TV) then it's okay. I figured it might be the same with the network cable.
