all i've heard is action replays are crap and other memory cards work in the device

well that COULD be the thing..the device may be crap..and the card isn't bad..either way, i hate interact

It can copy the default saved games, but when I try to use the xploit, it says

"This is not a vaild Xbox save"

extract the 007 to your desktop look insude and you will see a file called UDATA TAKE THAT FILE OUT OF 007 FOLDER AND RIGHT CLICK IT AND ADD IT TO ZIP WHEN IT ASK YOU FOR A NAME PUT 007 EVOX INSTALLER AND IT WILL WORK

if I try the 007 Evox Installer, it doesn't even show up in the AR menu.

hey disco dont get ahead of your self with this or you will drive yourself nuts
if you already have the 007 evox installer files in zip form then half the work is done but you are using a retail interact mem card and from what i have read about those cards they are not that reliable the link i gave you above will guide you threw the whole process step by step i tell you right now you are going to have to mod the end of one of your break away controler wires i did my mod bsed on this step by step and it came out perfect oh and another thing i didnt cut the xbox controler end off of my breakaway wire i just striped the plastic jacket back on each wire and fluxed the exposed areas and soldered the usb cable to each point and closed it up by rerapping it in foil and electrical tape

ok, i have the program to copy the files across.

How do I get the file to put onto the card ?

I ahve MechAssaultWithEvox.rar. How do i change it to put it onto the card?

I'd try vintage's method, but I doubt it would be any different to this.

Take the Mech Assault/007:AUF rar archibe and extract it!
Put it into a UDATA dir (if it isnt already in one)

UDATAXXXXXXXXXXXXX

and zip that as something like mechassault_hack.zip...

Now drag your zip over to the PC database field in the Action replay software...
and it will make a copy of the zip, with the right name in the action replay directory...
i think its MechAssaul_RunLinux.zip

You can also try to rename the file to MechAssaul_RunLinux.zip and put it into the savegame dir!
But be sure it is a zip archive, not a renamed rar archieve....

this isnt all that hard to do if you would just follw Vintages guide
i did not know what a 007 or mech hack was i never took the time to find out but in 3 hours i managed to do the controler mod download the ar software put it where it needed to be and copyed the 007 hack to the mem card and fix up the pheniox bios loader and put it on my box and all is running well now to get the ms dash booting up but what im saying here is if you take your time a nd follow the directions you wont mess up it sounds to me that the 007 or mech file you are using was not packed right so you keep geting that error so your gonna have to extract the 007 evo installer then right click on UDATA AND ZIP IT UP TINTO A FILE NAME IT WHAT YOU WANT THEN DRAG IT IBTO THE MEMORY CARD SECTION OF ACTION REPLAY LOOK AT THE ORANGE INDICATER IN THE TOP OF THAT WINDOWONCE IT IS ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT IT IS DONE

There is no point in making it, as I have the adaptor. My problem is, the program won't accept the file.

TRY THIS: go to codejunkies.com and download the MA RunLinux save. It's already zipped up, ready to be dragged into the left pane of AR software.

I did the exact same thing with AR and it worked.
The RunLinux save will allow you to load evox, then FTP into xbox.
