I Think Ms Patched 007!
« on: December 30, 2003, 03:04:00 AM »

I have the Platinum Hits version of 007AUF with #1448517 on the disc, as others have said, with this version the exploit works fine.   I haven't seen any new versions in the wild as I've done all the modding for my friends' xboxes, but it doesn't surprise me MS finally fixed this exploit - everybody and their brother knows about it by now.

It's probably not a bad idea to buy a copy of this game if you think you might have a need for it in the future...  Once word starts getting around that the new version is no good for the exploit, expect the prices on the old one to go up on eBay.

Just return the game to best buy and say that your xbox gave you a dirty disk error.  They'll trade it for a fresh one.  Then go back later and return the unopened 007.

Also dunno if the platinum MA works, but you guys should just go to EB or gamestop and get a used copy.  That way if you gotta return it, it's not a problem.

Could MS have fixed the 007 exploit? I have the 007 savegame on my modded xbox. If I boot my OLD copy of 007 AUF, and load a savegame, the exploit works and evox boots. However, If I use my brand new platinum copy of 007 AUF from bestbuy, when I load a savegame it simply says "Cannot load save game" and that's it. I have tried this multiple times, every time the older copy works fine, and the new copy will not boot evox. Do you think MS could have patched 007 already?

it may just need a newer version of the save to be compatible? i dont have the new one so experiment, make a save with the new one and then add the evox files

And what files do I keep, everything in the 000000000000 directory?  So I would just need the three .xbx files in the top directory from the new save?

Same problem here. In Germany its called "classic" and it also doesn't work.
I've looked in the UDATA4541000d folder and noticed that there is no 000000000000
directory. Instead its called 91633FEE2CF5.

I've then tried to add the needed files. I saved a game with the "classic" version and
added all needed files of the 007auf hack to the new gamesave. But nothing, after
loading the gamesave. It simply loads the save for the game, but no Evox.

That's very sad, it hard to find an original copy of this game or Mech Assault here.

I live in Holland and i also bought this classic version (1 week ago). But for me it works like a charm, so my advice is to check the tuts and try again.

Hi,

Tsjibbe, you're right, it works. I'm a fool it was my fault. I thought there must be a
000000000000 folder in the gamesave, but i realized that this is the hack.

Well I can confirm that the brand new platinum version of 007 that I bought simply does not work with the save.  I have tried this on 3 xboxes so far (all 1.0 and 1.1's) and on all three the brand new copy gives a message "Cannot load save game" whereas the older version of 007 I have drops to evox every time.  If the game is not patched then I can't explain it.  My advice is that if you're going to buy a copy of 007 to do this with, get an older one.  I know there are confirmed cases of the platinum version working, but I am telling you all that the one I bought last Friday does not work.  Anyone want to buy it from me??  :)

Later,

Steve
