007/evox/raincoat Ftp Troubles

Well, it looks like v1.2 may not be able to be exploited as easily.  However you may want to try a different FTP program.  The line "425 Can't open data connection to 192.168.0.1:26631"  is my question.  Why is your ftp program trying to connect to port 26631?  Looks a little fishy.  I believe that all data transfers can happen from one port(21).  Then again maybe this is normal, but MS(between v1.0 and 1.2) realized the weakness and fixed it...

By the way, I used the Mech Assult game save exploit(the one saved as "Run Linux") It works everytime for everyone as long as the box isn't too updated.  Most hacked succesfully have been 1.0's though.  Also, if you have friends that work at a store where they sell Xbox...you might be abled to get your hands on a system restore disc.  It come directly from MS and it erases the hardrive contents and reloads Dashboard and stuff.  It might take you back far enough for the exploit to work.(but you would lose your hard drive.

I have the exact same problem.  Tried using a router, also tried direct connection with cross-over cable.
I can ping the Xbox no problem, just cannot FTP in it.  It gives the same 425 error message.

I tried both FlashFXP and CuteFTP, same error.  PLEASE HELP!

p.s. I'm using the MA hack.
Xbox version: K:4817 D:4920
Thanks for any insight!

If you are using M$ Windows, there's 2 FTP programs built in, no need to download anything.

For the hardcore text dudes, open up a DOS window, and type:
ftp 192.168.0.99 (or whatever your xbox's IP is)

If you prefer a GUI (Graphical User Interface) use IE (Internet Explorer), and type this into the address line:
ftp://xbox:[email protected]
[ftp://[username]:[password]@[ip address]
Of course, use your xbox's IP address. You can leave out the password, and it will prompt you for it.  You can drag and drop to/from My Computer, Windows Explorer.

Turned off firewall too (ZoneAlarm), and FTP worked.  Glad I didn't win the bid for the memory card on Ebay  laugh.gif
