blink.gif  I should have known.  If you have the run Linux error like I did then that means that you don't have the correct version of MA.  It has to be the first edition or it's patched for this exploit.   jester.gif

I follower the directions step by step.  I tried to the C drive  twice and to the memory card twice.  What I get is this: The X-box loads Phoenix.  After Phoenix, the screen goes black.  After a few seconds, the X-box logopops back.  And a few more moments, the MS dashboards comes back up.  I am using Mech Assault.  Any ideas?  Help would be much appreciated, I want to start playing some emulators.

My problem is that, using the MA hack, instead of the Phoenix loading and EvoX starting, it's all glitchy.  If I use the right skin, I can read and use all the menu options, but like I said, it looks like what happens when an NES game freezes.

schi0249: how do you fix your last problem? My hacked version also pop xbox logo again and again. My kernel version is 5530 and dashboard has been downgraded from 5969 to 4920.

I have mine loading from the memory card.  I found i was mis-typing the path.  After correcting it, it worked.  I searched and downloaded the exact versions that were mentioned in the walk thru.

hey guys
the tutorial is outdated

I have managed to get this working with the new videochip

But it will still crash when trying to load a bios on a 5530 or higher bios, so that still has to be fixed

Updates

Phoenix Bios Loader 1.4.1 (unofficial - by Yoshihiro)

EvolutionX_V1_8_3935.rar

the bios included is the X2 4979 BIOS if i remember correctly

the new PBL and Bios add support for the new focus chip

there is however an even newer version of the x2 bios 4983, but i have not been able to find a bfm version of this yet

These new versions have a lot of bugfixes and also quite a few more features

too bad this doesnt fix it for the 5530, allthough Yoshihiro says they have found a fix for it and are testing it right now, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

first off, no need for such a big font, second off, spell check, if english isnt your first language then i am sorry and not trying to be rude but spellcheck and use the right words, mechassault, not mechwarrior

Mechassault,  dry.gif  if you load the savegame an jump to the frightful screen error 21 instead the MXM dashboard the your savegame is corrupted, if you use the ActionReplay to trasfer your savegame to the memory card, upgrade your app. to 1.20 version for avoid this error, Good Luck!  biggrin.gif
