I don't see why it would not work for this method.

No Action-replay / Mega X-key Tutorial
« Reply #65 on: February 20, 2005, 10:35:00 PM »

so i actually went out and buyed an action replay, but it never worked, so i emailed the tech-support guys at their official website for help and they told me i would need to return it because i have a faulty AR memory card.  The thing is though that i lost my receipt so i can't return it.  I do however own an Interact Flash 8mb memory unit and i was wonder if you know how ot get that to work With the action replay (when i plug it into the AR thingy through the USB port it says i have to install software for a new USB device, but i don't know what to do...i just can't get it to work)

i hope you can help, i payed $30 for this thing and i just want it to work

umm. i just tore apart an OLD USB mouse so im guessing USB1

as for the pictures..i have found a few(i dont have a digital camera or scanner)
just cut the xbox controller cord, and the USB controller cord and connect the collor coded wires to the matching color(it's quite easy) and snip the yellow one

this is the closest thig to a pic i've seen

Hi,

Just wonder if anyone can help.I find this tut. and it sound great, install AR's sw and edit the ini and it can read my Xbox formated USB thumb drive (the xbox can format and transfer save game to this thumb drive). But after I transfer save game from AR to the thumb drive, the  thumb drive doesn't work anymore on the xbox. The xbox seems to blink and have very slow respone. I have try diff. thumb drive (SAN Disk Crus and HP) with similar result. Has anyone any idea ? The AR sw is the current one on codejunkies site.

Thanks

sad.gif

whenever i try to install either of the two action replay softwares, i get an error stating that "c:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and MS Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

and it gives me two options: close and ignore. i've tried both, but neither do a thing. the installer just exits.

i've tried restarting and junk, but nothin seems to work. is this a prob in my windows or the software? what can i do to fix it?

thanks!

Well since i am here anyways and i read the whole subject, i like to add:

I tried this Action Replay thingy on a STMP3500 MP3 player and it works.
So this should work for all the same devices which uses this chip.

- Marquant MP3 speler MP3-117                256MB
- Hp audiokey                                         32-256MB
- Sweex MP3 player pacific/mediteranian   128MB
- Creative Muvo TX                                  128-256MB
etc.

U need to add the corresponding PID in the driver xbreader.inf file

%S_DeviceDesc1%=_Install1, USB\VID_066F&PID_8000

And for the savegames to work in AR you need to change a few things in the savegame. There is a file in the save of the game itself called datelinfo.xbx and there is a databasefile for the AR program to know what is in the directory.

One easy solution is :

Find in the database the file splintercell or whatever gamesave. Open it with ZIP prog. U see a UDATA dir in it > delete it .
Now open the savegame of the exploit and copy the dir UDATA to this empty zip-file u just had opened.
Close it and run the AR prog and copy the savegame u used to the memory-device.
U need the exact same one as u emptied in the first place.
Dont worry about the text doesnt seem right or anything else, once u done u see the right savegame in your memory-device.
Any other files like txt are no problem i believe.

Another thing: the driver stops responding after 20 minutes or less. re-plug the device if you dont see it connected anymore.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to use a USB<>USB interconnect ?
So u can have a USB network with pc.
I also like to know wheter i can use my Bluetooth as a wireless device for the XBOX
I didn't come to the point of using the exploits since i dont have the original games.
But i will manage to get my 1.6b xbox from 2-6-2004 to work, even if i have to replace chips and all.

So i used the mp3 player to transfer the savegame, put the game in
the dvd-drive and turned off the XBOX. Turned on > game starts wait...
load the saved game and there it was : the softmod v2 auto-installer
unlike the manual says u need to press A twice and start the saved
game/linux installer. I pressed buttons from up to down ( backup and stuff)
and while i was adjusting some settings it accidently rebooted.. i waited and
voila evox booted. After some tests with video and stuff and doing weird stuff
to it like put a copied game in and turn on the xbox and backup all, run some
progs like emulators and xboxtools, unplugged powercord while it was in evox
and while copying a game (shouldn't do that  unsure.gif ) . It works great on my xbox 1.6b

Whats even better is to add a usb male plug onto the top of the memory card.  Look around for a tutorial.  It's really easy.  It'll let you use that card as a PC and XB memory device.

It no longer allows me to edit my first post so.. INSTEAD OF USING HID use this easy LINK http://www.redcl0ud.com/files/XBCDv107.exe XBCD allows you to use your controller to play as a joystick on the PC as well as HID however..all you need to do is install this..no device manager garbage. For the lazy people;). So in short..if HID doesn't work for you..use THIS. All work is of the original author..blah blah.
