have done the controler mod and the controller works fine on pc ,
used usb view and added the pid,vid lines to the  xbreader.
can save off the mem card from box onto the pc no probs but when i try to save on to the memory card from the pc it transfers no error message but cant see the saves when i plug the card into the box or even when i plug the card back into the action replay software ,the saves seem to be there  cause they are taking up space on the card  but there is nothing visable.
its not a MS card just a cheap generic one

got anyideas what wrong ?

edit re read thread and  can now i aint the only one having this problem

So I did my research first, and searched for it with no luck.....

I would like to know you can just wire up the xbox memory card directly to a PC USB by soldering a usb Cable to to the corrisponding pins on the inside of the memory card.

--slightly modifying the concept found in this tutorial:

http://www.i-hacked....=article&sid=34

instead of soldering the USB ports to the controler, solder the cable to the memory card itself, and install the AR software..  it works in my head....  but I don't feel like frying another memory card so soon after my last one. (don't ask)

And based on that idea, with my dead memory card, I took the board out and dremeled a hole to fit a USB port, so I have a more portable USB adapter for the controler.....

Could I take said home made USB adapter, get a male to male USB cable and plug my xbox controler to the PC via home made memory card adapter that isn't really a memore card anymore and be able to use my controler on my PC?  --and if so, can I plug a regular xbox memory card into the second memory slot on my controler and transfer the save games that way?

PM me for pics of my work on that usb memory card port for the xbox controler should you wish to see it.

I had this mod working perfectly just like the tutorials says to do it when I had win98.  It has been a while since I have tried to do this, but recently I upgraded to win xp and it does not work.  any one know why?

use madcatz or a official card  and win xp is way diff then 98  xp and 2000 have their own specific drivers. I would never use this method tho it would either be  action replay card way or   a regular xecuter modchip probably the latter.

hmm sorry can't help you out Poon

I'm running XP too.
I've used Xctrl rebooted. Then used the AR with the drivers and it all worked.

If you want PM me and I can send you my version of Xctrl. But I"m guessing you've probably got the same version.

Jesper,  YOU ARE THE F*CKING MAN!  You're right, I had the same drivers already that you sent me, but it was your tut that cleared things up for more.  The problem was in my mod.  I have a USB cable hooked up directly to the usb ports on my controller so it does not go the the actual xbox controller.  The usb cable was hooked up directly to the memory card in other words.  (So I dont know if this is correct, but from this, if you have win98, you can just hook your memory card up directly and use the datel drivers.  That has to be the way I was doing it before)  So I made a new cable that hooked up to the controller and everything worked perfectly.  I dont know why I didnt  see this before, but you tut that you included with your email made me realize it.

Thank You

No worries, glad you finally got it working.

But strange, cause I always thought that you could hook up the Memory card to the USB directly.  Maybe XP you have to use differnt drivers, perhaps XP's removable storage ones. THough not sure how they would handle FATX.
