Nice work bro!   wink.gif

Your instructions worked for me on a used Xbox I got for 50 bucks  tongue.gif   I had my games backed up on my other modded xbox's HD.  I used Xtoolbox to move the games from Xbox to Xbox.  I had to pay attention to the final steps of your instructions to get the games working on the unmodded Xbox.

I had a fonts folder.  I did not remane bert and earnie, I just stuck em in that fonts folder.

Can you use the F drive after doing the 007 trick?  The 5 Gigs on E is not much room.  dry.gif

i dunno man...
and no you do NOT rename bert and ernie!!!!  does it say to rename bert and ernie to xbox and xbox book? no... then you dont do it...
you rename xbox.xtf and xbox book.xtf to XFT files...

trust me on this... and after you do this there is a way to edit the xboxdashboard in hex and change xtf to xft so it will actually boot from evox!

and about the ftp's

QUOTE
Connecting the XBOX to a network that uses an internet router/residential gateway.
I recommend you read the entire tutorial once before you get started. This FAQ may not be 100% consistent for EVERY router out there, but it should help you FFIO.

A router is a device which allows multiple computers to connect to the internet. Its main purpose is to share an internet connection. Most routers are setup to do assign the devices on your network an IP address. The protocol that handles IP addressing is called DHCP. When your computer gets one of these addresses, its called a “dynamic IP” This is OK for your computers, but not so good for the XBOX. If you aren’t familiar with your router and DHCP, then you will have a hard time figuring out which IP address the XBOX takes (that makes it impossible to FTP to!) With dynamic address, there is also a chance it will change. So what works one day, may not work the next. The solution it so set the XBOX up with a Static IP address.

1. Determine the IP range of your network. This will help you figure out what address to give the XBOX.

Win9X/ME
Go to Start > Run and enter command. Click OK.
From the command prompt, enter “ipconfig /all” (no quotes) and hit Enter.

Win2k/XP
Go to Start > Run and enter CMD. Click OK.
From the command prompt, enter “ipconfig” (no quotes).

Take note of your Ethernet adapter’s IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
The first three sections (octets) of your IP Address are important. Notice how they are the same for the Default Gateway, probably either 192.168.0.X or 192.168.1.X. You are going to give your XBOX an address in the same range. Your subnet mask isn’t too important for this stuff. If your IP address is something like 169.254.X.X, you may not have a router. FFIO.

2. Figure out what IP is available to assign your XBOX. All the computers that connect to your network should be turned on for this step.

Pick an address to assign the XBOX. When I say pick an address, I really mean pick any number between 2-254. I started at 2 because your default gateway was probably 192.168.X.1.

My computer’s IP address was 192.168.10.105, and my gateway was 192.168.10.1, so I picked 192.168.10.20 for the XBOX. I didn’t pick 106 or 104 because DHCP may have assigned one of those addresses to one of my other computers.

Still at the command prompt, enter “ping” and the IP address you picked for the XBOX (ex: ping 192.168.10.20). You should get 4 request time outs. If you get replies, then the address you picked to use for the XBOX is already is in use on your network. Assigning that address to the XBOX will cause an IP conflict. Pick another number and ping again. Once your ping requests time out, you found an available address to assign the Xbox.

3. Now you need to Edit your evox.ini file.
You need to enable Static IP then enter the IP information you found previously.
IP 192.168.10.20
Net Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.10.1
