XAT Tutorial For Unmodded Xbox to Play Backup/Homebrew Games

Requirement

(1) A Xbox v1 with kernel 4034

(2) A computer with LAN card for transferring  data to the xbox thru a FTP client, I recommend FlashFXP

(3) *Free-X font exploit

(4) *Either 007: Agent Under Fire GameSave With EvoX installer OR MechAssault GameSave With EvoX installer

(5) *Complex !Loader 1.0f

(6) MegaXkey or Xbox Memory Card

(7) Original Xbox MechAssault Game

* -> Download links provided at the bottom of the page

Steps

(1) You need to download the file (either 007: Agent Under Fire GameSave With EvoX installer OR MechAssault GameSave With EvoX installer)

(2) Transfer it to your Xbox using a MegaXkey or if any of your friends have their set modded, you can seek their help by first transferring the save to a Xbox memory card...

(3) Boot the MechAssault game and select Campaign Mode > Run Linux

(4) Instead of Linux, EvolutionX Dashboard will boot up and now you can gain FTP access to your Xbox...

(5) You can access to the Xbox @ the following address using your client...

Ftp Address: 192.168.0.1 Port: 21

Username: xbox

Password: xbox

(6) Now download and extract the file within Complex !Loader 1.0f

(7) From the directory where you have extracted the file to, select C and you will see default.xbe file and !Loader Folder...

(8) Ftp the default.xbe file and !Loader Folder into C folder of your Xbox

(9) Now download and extract the file within Free-X font exploit

(10) From the directory where you have extracted the file to, you will see three files: default.xbe, bert.xtf and ernie.xtf...

(11) Only Ftp bert.xtf and ernie.xtf files to C > Fonts of your Xbox, overwriting the actual bert.xtf and ernie.xtf files... Before that, you might want to do a backup pf the two files... If  you Ftp the default.xbe folder to the Fonts folder, instead of running !Loader, the Xbox will boot the default.xbe of the Free-X font exploit

(12) When you finished all the above steps, reboot the Xbox by selecting "Reboot" of your EvolutionX dashboard

(13) Now, the !Loader will boot and these are the commands of the !Loader...

Press WHITE - launch the game in your DVDROM.
Press BLACK - refresh/update menus.
Press YELLOW - refresh DVDROM.

(14) So to boot your Homebrew Or Backup Games on DVD, simply pree the WHITE button of your Xbox control...

Is the version of Evox supplied in the zip been signed with the Free-X key? (the link from the tutorial)

Or should I use this 007/mechassault hack to load up evox and thus allow FTP, and then copy over the relevant Free-X signed evox (and the hacked fonts obviously) as found on the dashboard exploit forum?

The reason for not using !complex loader is that my xbox is v1.1 btw

Thanks.
