So all I need to do is make the USB to Xbox joypad cable, plug my USB memory stick to the Xbox via the cable and the Xbox will see it and format it?

Then use Mega X Key software on the PC to transfer the save games?

No, no, no, no, and NO. Not all drives will work with the Mega X Key software if you've been snooping around the boards only USB Pen drives/Cameras/MP3 players whos cards are actually 32Mb (at the Physical level) it will not work. Since there is no translation for FatX on windows the Mega X Key software must work at the physical level so if your card/ drive is any less than 32Mb it will not work. Now there is a hacked version of the software floating around the internet if you can find it. Its been rummored to support many many more drives but Im using an offical MXK USB card and cable biggrin.gif Good Luck!

PS: About using larger drives we've been talking about it on Xboxhacker.net forums but still no luck we have tried getting a USB drive case that the xbox will see and we've found one but we just cant get the Xbox to format the drive to FatX (we've tried with many different 4Gb drives....) If anyone has any information on this it would be of great help!!! Mind you all of this is on UNMODDED.

Thanks

QUOTE (ventress @ Jul 4 2003, 03:37 PM)
I used a cheap 32mb usb drive from dabs which isn't even proper 32mb (31.2mb).

It should be fine. just fromat it with the xbox first then read it using megaxkey software.

Have you got a quicklinx number for it?

And DOES it work ok? With your xbox anyway, I'm not fussed about it not working with the mega x-key software.

You just have to buy the xbox extension cable and an usb extension cable. Then cut both in half and solder them together. There is 1 extra wire in the xbox extension cable, but you don't need it because it's for a lightpen. I'm gonna try my own cable tomorrow because I just borrowed the usb pendrive from a friend of mine smile.gif

I can confirm it works! The xbox thinks I have a memory card and the mega x-key software also detects my pendrive! I have a 'sweex'  pendrive.

It's from a brand called sweex, more info here:

http://www.des.nl/co...php4?artId=2326

It's a 32mb big pendrive. The unhacked mega-xkey software detects it perfectly and thinks it's a real megaxkey smile.gif

I soldered my own cable by buying a xbox extension cable and an usb extension cable.
