EDIT:  sad.gif I guess that unlocking boot disk only works for the older Seagate drives and not the ST310014A which is what i have....

You should have put that info in your first post.....

The HDD does not get banned...the eeprom info stored in the eeprom chip on your mobo does...you can reflash it with an unbanned eeprom image with ConfigMagic or numerous other tools - but be careful - you can also turn your XBOX into a doorstop if you are not careful !!! (That was not a joke BTW)

...and if you already have a modded XBOX you can likely use it to unlock the HDD... (with ConfigMagic or other tools)
