Xmod Pro Chip, Evox M7 Ejectfix, 300gb Hd
« on: February 26, 2006, 12:58:00 PM »

Hello

I have an Xbox v1.4

My modchip is Xmod Pro (alsp refered to as Aladdin Pro?)

The current BIOS is EvoX M7 Ejectfix

My dash is XBMC 1.1.0 and it tells me that the modchip is.. "sst 49LF020A"?

My problem is... I have a 300GB hd in the xbox now, but only about 130GB shows... How do I make all 300GB visible??

I assume it's a bios-thing.... And I'm EXTRA newbie into flashing (and a little concerned that I might crash my box..)..

Help!

you have to flash your chip with a bios that supports lrger than 137gb hard drives. when you do flash the chip again, make sure to use the m8 bios becuase its loads better. better yet, flash it with an x2 bios.

Get Evox M8 Plus.

1. Flash Evox m8 plus with Partition 6 takes the rest of the drive (and if u still dont see all ur space, format with XBpartitioner using 32k cluster).
or
2. Flash Evox m8 plus with Partition 6 takes up to 137/ Partition 7 takes the rest.

*partition 6 = F Drive, 7 = G Drive.

Alright this leaves me with more questions...

What's the diff from "EvoX M8" to "M8 plus" to "X2" ?

Can they all be used on MY system?

Excactly how do I flash my chip (this IS the newbie forum  smile.gif )???

Where is it that you have to take care not to do a "wrong" Flashing?

Why would one prefer any of the two options "JustinT9669" describes?

What he is talking about is a feature called LBA48.  It supports drives larger than 137 gb and comes in two different flavors, with all extra space going either the the G drive or to the F drive.

I prefer a bios that ends in .67 because it allows me to better organize files, I think.  But, it is personal preference.  There are no REAL and obvious advantages to one over the other.

Alright - thanx catty...

Justin got a point... BUT - these are hard to search:

* Can all bioses be used on MY system?

* Where is it that you have to take care not to do a "wrong" Flashing?

The M7 can have LBA support depending on how it is configured, have you tried formatting G drive???

I think G IS already formated.... I'll take a look....

What is TSOP?

Is it TSOP or bios, that I have to flash to make this work??

TSOP is the chip that contains the original BIOS on ver 1.0-1.5, it can only be flashed if the correct points on the MoBo are bridged. You have a chip so to change the BIOS you need to flash the Chip with a new one the procedure is slightly different for different chips so research yours. First of all check the formating of G: on a 300GB hdd you want both F and G drives to avoid data coruption.

Ok... I do not want to TSOP-flash

I've downloaded the following files:
EVTool.zip
EvolutionX M8plus Bios.nfo
EvolutionX M8plus Bios.rar
EvolutionX M8plus Bios.sfv

I have copied everything from my C: and my E: on the xbox...

1. So what now?
2. I see (http://home.alltel.net/nghtshd/evtool.html) that I somewhere have to choose between the filesizes 256Kb, 512Kb and 1024Kb... How do I know which is right?
3. What is the "IGR Method"?
4. Should I "ignore harddrive partition table" or?
5. When I've filled out the EVTool things - then what? "Pack" ?
6. Then what?

Your chip takes a 256k bios. The easiest method for you to flash this is to download the HackDaBox Spiderchip Reflash Disc (Yes I know you don't have a spiderchip) this works with the chip you have and all you do is put the disc in choose the setup you want for the flash and hit flash. That's it..... apart from you have to write enable your chip.
The chip is the same as the ones in my guide and is just an Aladdin XT so if the lattice chip is a 4032 you need to ground BT to enable the flash (Connect BT on the chip to Pin 2 on the chip whilst you re-flash)
If the lattice chip is a 4064 you need to connect BT to L1 on the chip to enable the flash

Hey!

This seems to be just what I need, chancer.... Your tutorial at: http://www.fixnchipz.co.uk/page21.html seems just right...

But one diff.. In the tut - you write that a 4032 chip dosn't require any changes, to write-enable, and here you write, that it does... Which is it?

Also - which dash will boot if I flash with the HackDaBox Re-Flash Disc?

And least - how about my 300GB disk - will it all be enabled? And will I loose the stuff on it already?

99 percent of the time the 4032 will flash with no changes at all. The chip is supposed to have no flash protection..but.. i have come across a few that were reluctant to flash until BT was grounded (Connected to Pin 2 on the chip). try it first and if it comes up write protected then try the BT to pin 2 trick.
If you use the X2 bios on the HackDaBox disc it will give you an F and G drive. Boot order is Evox, Avalaunch (not sure on the third, PM HackDaBox , he would know)
The drive may have to be reformatted depending on how its set up now

I succeded in using the spiderflash CD - thanx..

Now I have a new problem - When booting with a short push on the button it says Errorcode 05 - which is about my HD not being locked (I don't think it CAN be locked...) - so what are my options?

Cant I use the original dash?

How do I use a different dash, when just pushing short?
