Xalx2+ ?

Hi All

I am looking at installing a XALX2+ modchip into my XBox I would to know if anyone has heard of this chip or has any feedback.

here is the only info I can find
QUOTE
XALX2+ is also completely upgradable without having to remove the mod from the Xbox and each area of the mod is accessed by simply holding the Xbox 'on' button for different durations. Modchips like Executor again have more ugly switches ( a total of 3) hanging outside of the Xbox case to change to different areas and is a much more cumbersome mod in physical size. If any area of the Mod was corrupted by holding the Xbox 'On' and 'Eject' buttons for 2 seconds to power the console the Mod would boot from a backup non erasable area (which could never be corrupted or re-written) from where the user could repair the area that did not upgrade successfully as many times as needed without ever needing to remove the modchip from the console. With other Modchips like Xecutor and Matrix we did encounter certain situations were they had to be removed from the Xbox to reflash which is no job for an easy going gamer.

Hiya,
I have one of those chips, no problems with it so far.
Only drawback that i can see is its only got 256k flashable, but unless you're really into dev, this shouldnt be a problem.

Good value for money (mine was £20 uk) but if you want more features, you'll have to pay more for an executor or whatever.

Yeah its a good chip I reckon.  I can't compare it to anything else as its all i have ever used but from what I have read about other mods I would still have chosen this one.  Only downside being the 256k BIOS.  But thats standard size unless you wanna do some stupid shit.

You an Aussie? A lot of Aussies tend to go for this mod.

Ahh who cares about size, I got an xbit but now I find it very useless as I never use the extra bios banks, ever.

Yeah I got my ALX2+ Rev3 installed by Blade in Brisbane.

After doing a little bit of research I've come to the conclusion that they sure did rip me off, not just by the massive mark up on the chip and then the installation, but also by charging me heaps for so called extra features like EvolutionX, mediacentre, being able to play dvd's for any region etc.  I'm talking way over a hundred dollars just for these so called extra software features!!!!!!!!

I spoke to that Ivan Dude who was hyping up the whole situation and yeah I'll admit it: I fell for it hook, line and sinker.  Some of the things he said my xbox would be able to do with the chip installed didnt even do what he said.

Never again.  But this seems to be a common theme in this forum in relation to Blade so there must be truth in numbers.  It will all catch up with him as word spreads along the grape vine.

Me too, i was kinda gunning for a Xecuter V3 but they (Blade) offer to do the ALX2+ for $200 then they had the audacity to charge another $60 for freeware programs all of which I could've found online.
I kinda knew it was going to be a rip-off, but i just wanted to make damn sure the thing was going to do what I wanted, which fair enough it is doing.
My only problem is the BIOS is Unknown and unrecognisabled by bios checker(or any bios type software) and i'm wary of trying to replace it with a different BIOS (evox m8), possible it's some homebrew BIOS in an attempt to make it "legal" by current Aussie law

Yeah, i`ve done loads and not had one back. CHip is fine for the norms out there who just play games. And they are very easy to install, only 3 wire on 1.0 to 1.5, 7 wires on v1.6. Only bugger is getting old chip out of 1.0's. Anyway at least they are cheap. Only £19. Plays everything so far and takes upto a 120gb hard drive. Any way gotta go. Anyway from London
