Did you use xbhdm first?

do you see flubber, big "X"?

can you cold boot slayers? (disc in, power off, power on)

no flubber after hdd swap
after hdd swap nothing wil boot

i think i'll check all my solder joints but i'm pretty sure they are all good (i solder every day at work so i'm good at that)
as for disableing the chip still nothing.

He has a modchip... why woud he need to use a utility primarily used for softmods?

I would recheck the chip and it's solder points. Maybe you have a cold solder joint, looks connected but under magnifier you may see a break. What happens when you change banks... can you get the flashbios to boot? Does it boot with the chip disabled? After changing to a newer large drive you should still get the flubber intro, then it would give an error since the drive has nothing on it.

hey buddy

i used to have the same problem as you - have a muck aroudn with the 2 power cables for the hdd and dvd drive. When i had this problem it was because my dvd drive power cable was only half plugged into it i think it short circuited and wouldnt boot

this might not work but give it a shot
