if you have the eeprom just rebuild the C:\ using xboxhdm? If it wont even coldboot, then i guess get a modchip or rebuild the C:\ with xboxhdm.

if you didn't unplug it then it should still coldboot games (put 007 in the drive before you turn it on).
also it might help if you toild which installer you used. An error 21 does not come up by itself.
Like sugested if nothing works you can always use xboxhdm to rebuild your hd. I'm sure you are a smart guy and backed up the eeprom. Otherwise it's hotswap time for you.

no. I said "rebuild the C:" for a reason. In xboxhdm there is an option to rebuild JUST the C:\ drive.

Bu if you dont have the eeprom it doesnt look like you will be using xboxhdm, it looks like you will be buying a modchip.

yeah from experience, if your softmod screws up, rebuild C: with xboxhdm, it makes things much easier than doing a hotswap or any of that stuff. after you are done do a TSOP flash and stop worrying about softmod problems, its much better trust me.

- Even though it's a matter of preference so a Tsop is not better by definition but only by opinion. A softmod is still faster and easier to do then a tsop and you can keep live and mod all versions. I've never heard of a tsop that can do that (excluding some 1MB split tsops).
And about softmodproblems....there are only problems that you can cause by yourself. The problems that show up on the forums are from a vast minority of users.
