I have bought a xbox from a friend that had power problems in his apartment. Shelled that mother board and installed one that i won on ebay, (which worked when it arrived to my house). Well now the one that i know workED isent anymore its fragging and i dont understand.

you probably installed a v1.0 mobo into a v1.6 or the other way around

The xbox case would actually matter?

Is there an error screen after the xbox turns on? Is there any auido/video at all?

The one i won on half.com/ebay was taken apart and tested because i won it for 33 bucks, thinking that they were bsing about the dvd drive being the only problem i took the dvd drive out of my modded box and put it into the half.com one booted it and it worked. The one i bought from the friend he said was refurbed which it was, and it has the focus chipset so i think thats like v1.4 - v1.5 correct? I took the refurb out of that case and installed the half.com/ebay one in the case of the refurbed, the half.com xbox is a v1.6 because it has the samsung chipset.
