if I reinstall Evox do I lose all of the games and files that I've collected over the past year? I have a 120 gig hard drive that's 2/3 full of stuff.

You have a couple of partitions

C: drive is just like a pc C: it has all programs and system files MS and hacked

 E: is game save

F: has all the goodies, Pirated Games, porn, and stolen mp3's  whoa yeah LOL

 Dont touch that shhhhhh

But you can simply rewrite evox with slayer copy with has newer evox.ini
that file tells evox what means to disply in interface. And slayer 2.6 has latest MS
 DASH that you should install.

no you will not lose any data
your only going to mess with C:\

the mn740 only has to be setup once, use DHCP,
with setting unique to your wireless router.
you can do it from any stock xbox then
connect it to ANYTHING that you want (xbox, PC, PS2 )
and it will act like a "wireless bridge"

Game Saves, here is easier fix get MS Dash from xbins and make xiso and you got MS boot disc or copy over to C: and its there for good.

But I  would get slayers or  anyother autoinstaller just for safe keeping if not anything else.

alright. I burned the slayer's 2.6 iso on to a disc and I'm going to try the option to reinstall the ms dash on the c drive. hopefully it works.  so if it does work, I should be able to use the mn-740 disc to configure the network adapter? is that why the disc just freezes my xbox because the xboxdash isn't there?

"would it not be easier to do the dashupdate via a live game"

I have no idea how to do that? what's involved? I have no xboxdash.xbe at all right now so would an update do anything? that's what the mn-740 disc is supposed to do update the ms dash. since the ms dash doesn't exist it just freezes the xbox.

Yeah it would have been easier to update via live but then you wouldnt have a
copy of slayers which was the purpose. I think every noob should have copy in a
safe place for emergencies simple as that.

 What is current status?

"What is current status?"

I was hoping to hear back from someone on how to update via live before I start playing around with slayers. it sounds like slayers is going to over write everything on the c drive and if there is an easier way that simply replaces xboxdash.kbe I think I'd rather do that first.

For last time, insert slayers and install MS DASH.

The guy you bought the xbox from formatted and set up C: drive from
slayers.

You C: drive looks just like my C: drive and everyone elses C: drive that
uses evox.

The only customization on C: are installed skins and options you write into your
evox.ini file.

I'm done

I appreciate the help but  I'm not going rush in to ANYTHING based solely on some reply in a forum on the net. you might be right but I'm not doing anything until I'm positive!
