I've been having problems using the Cromwell FlashBios that came on a chip that I ordered. This is the 4th xbox i've soldered and its givin me a bunch of problems. I used a lite version of an x2 before where I had to make two different discs to flash it. One with the ozx flash program and the other one with the bios.bin file.
When I put the chip in the xbox and turn it on, sometimes it'll just cycle power and not turn on. Then I'll turn it off, and it'll boot, but then I'll turn it back on, and the LED will stay orange and nothing will happen. Then once in a while it'll actually boot....usually after I boot with the mod disabled, let it boot....then turn it off, set the mod to enable, then boot again quickly. Really weird. Anyway, when Cromwell FlashBios loads it asks for the cd with the bios update and all I've ever gotten was "no bios update found...halting" I've used three different kinds of media, burned them using xISO, burned them regularly and just about every different thing I could think of, and thats all I'm getting is "no bios update found...halting"
Anyway....so I feel bad for this kid and take his modchip from him and go back to my place and try it on my xbox and I get the same thing. I know its not a soldering issue since I just plugged in his modchip to my wire harness from my x2. Anyway, same thing including the booting problems and I was unable to flash.
Please...if anyone has any ideas, let me know
