First things first - you can't do anything with Slayers etc until you flash a hacked bios to your modchip. That is what the Flashbios is asking you to do - it gives you several options to flash a new bios to the chip (from a CD, over a network connection, from a previously setup xbox HD etc). Create a 512kb bios so that it only flashes Bank 1 - this means the Flashbios in Bank 2 will still be available if it goes wrong.
Get a copy of X2-4983 or EvoX-M8 bios, flash it to your chip - then you can install Evox, games, emulators etc.

well i was thinkin since the flash thing looks for 'bios.bin', it would ignore the rest of the file, and use that as a makeshift dummy file, even though it isn't a dummy. then when you go to insall Evox with slayer, itll ignore bios.bin

You need to flash a bios resized to 512kb for a X2.6 chip, like it says here.

If you have a version 1.0-1.5 xbox, flash any damn bios you want (I recommend X2.4981.06).

If you have a v1.6 xbox you MUST flash the Evox M8_16 bios (m8_16.bin in the M8 RAR package).

If you're unfortunate enough to have a v1.6b xbox (re: the RAM chips say Hynix instead of Samsung), you'll need the Evox M8+ bios.

But regardless of bios and xbox version all X2.x lite chips have two 512kb bios banks.

Lastly, IF you have a v1.6, be sure you flash the bios to BANK TWO, otherwise you're going to have problems loading apps other than your main dash.

THEN use Slayers....  wink.gif

DON'T flash a full meg bios.  That will wipe FlashBIOS as well and leave you stuck if you don't have a programmer and screw up the initial flash.

Leave FlashBIOS on bank one, flash the (resized-to-512kb) bios you need to bank two.

Xecuter X2.x chip = Reflash it with Team Xecuter's FlashX xbox app.

Do a "site search flashx" (without the quotes) on xbins.

No, if you have an X2.x chip, it will show FOUR slots (four hexagons), the leftmost pair (1+2) are Bank One and the rightmost pair (3+4) are Bank Two (you're using a 512kb sized bios, right?)?

This is not that hard.  It's just like the switch module.  Left for bank one, right for bank two...

what exactly do you have chip xbox etc.

you renamed the file to Bios.bin ??

the difference between the bioses you have is 1 the .06 one is for a large drive f and .67 is for drives over 160 Gb i think giving you a drive G too if you have a 200Gb use the .67

let me know i will try to help also I apologise if you feel i took over your thread. I started a new one for myself and I have gotten 0 help

all from someone sparking my curiosity

wink.gif.

capelli: Make sure you've burnt the disc correctly (finalizing it, etc.).  Check the rest of the guide that I pointed out for the right way to burn a disk.

And give it a few tries.  I knew a guy who, even after using proven media and burning it exactly like the guide says, had to try like 20 times to get the damn disc to be read.

Accuracy and persistance.  That will see you through.
