6 means "Cannot unlock HDD".  That means there's either a problem with your eeprom or that both hard drives are locked with a key other than the one with you eeprom.  Try looking in the tutorial section for a method of restoring your eeprom from your backup files.  If there's nothing there then try doing a search in the forums.  Restoring your eeprom seems like the best way to go at this point.

if I can't use eeprom backups etc, do you think that with a modchip I can save the xbox?

the idea is to put a pogo pins. then plug the maxtor 120gb. then insert an autoinstaller in the dvd drive and power on the xbox....i think it works...don't you?
