I'm not too sure what you're asking, but alternate d0 is number 13 in that picture....

Sorry, do you mean that point 13 in that picture is the same as d0? I mean, if I want to solder a modchip that needs to make contact with d0 (such as matrix), can I solder the corresponding wire to 13 instead? This should be much easier than dealing with that small bitch d0.

Sorry if this question is dumb, but I'm planning on soldering my matrix chip via some wires to the board, and if this way I could avoid dealing with d0 I would be very happy.

yes that "13" on the pic is the alernative D0 point on the bottom of the motherboard. which is a alot easier to solder a wire to.

Oh well, I guess it is worth a try... Anyway the fact that it is under the board could be a problem to me. I'll have a look. Thanks for all.

You should take the board out of your Xbox before you solder it anyway.

And the backside d0 is much better.  I messed up the top one twice before trying that one (couldn't find any really good pics of it) but it was real easy once I tried it.  I've modded a few boxes since and I can solder the backside d0 with a 30 watt iron so that should tell you it's a better place to go.

Oh well, of course I would dismount the motherboard to solder a wire to d0 underneath, I was just bitching about having to do that. Anyway I'm sure this is much easier than doing it in the d0 part of the top of the board.

it looks like that little spot next to point 18. take a continuity test to that link to 32 point and see if it connects.
