well if your bios doesnt skip the clock check and your MS dashbaord is bad youll get error 16, so youll have to somehow relfash your chip with a new bios that skips the clock check (or get another HD to set the clock with)

It sounds to me like the boot sequence has been changed. Is it possible that you changed the bios to boot something other than d:\default.xbe?

I suggest flashing with a new bios. Use an unmodified x2 or m7 or whatever, and see if you can boot an original game disk, or your evox disk. I don't think it's a hdd problem.

Well, the problems all began when I chose to install to F: rather than C: during Evox's installation so I'm not sure if it's a boot problem or HDD or what.

The thing is though, I can't get my Xbox to load any CDs or DVDs or anything right now so I'm not sure how I'd even flash a new BIOS in.

Just trying to bump this up so I could get a definitive reply...is an original Xbox HD what's needed right now or an unlocked, modded one?

buy a new HDD from best buy or whatever, then stick it in (make sure its set to cable sellect) and then boot. it should work. then you can get yourself out of the clock loop

I tried that with no success.  :/ Even with a new hard drive in, it wouldn't boot a CDRW or DVD.
