Ouch, sounds like you got screwed man. sad.gif Do nt fear though, programmers are relentless people, and will hack this thing any day now. When making something secure from hacking, all you are doing is delaying it, defeat is inevitable. So hang tight little buddy, and you xbox will be good as mine in no time.  cool.gif

Have you tried using a regualr CD-R? I have to use CD-RW's because I have a Thompson that has trouble reading and type of CD. And I do like CD-RW's because they aren't trash after you are done with them. I hate wasting CD's, even though they are so cheap. tongue.gif

just to let you know, youll be able to use the x2.3, but it wont be completely solderless, you will have to solder d0 for the 1.6 (since its in a different place)

Go for the old one man. I have a v1.0 as old as they come. The only draw back is the Thompson drives are picky, but this can be worked around/fixed. They play all games/dvd's wonderfully.

in addition to this, some of the other points on the LPC are disconnected now (5 i believe), so youll have to solder jumpers to their new locations.

if you dont feel comfortable doing this id definitely trade your buddy

How about trade for his old xbox on the conditions that you get to swap the DVD drives.

Lol, man poor kid. I treasure my 1.0 xbox. Anything past 1.1 sucks cause you need a modchip, ad right now 1.6 sucks even worse.

I would hurry up and trade him, your xbox is surely trashed since you put a Creed cd in it.  sad.gif

unless that cd happens to be My Own Prison, that album was cool

bands usually have a cool first album (they wrote it themselves) and a crappy second and subsequent albums (the "industry" has a hand in making those)

examples:
Creed
Staind
System of a Down
....dammit, my friend and i were talking abou tthis for liek 4 hours last night and now i cant rememebr any of the bands we dissed, lol
