i have read many tutorials but ill make this one nice and simple
if you, like me, had or are currently having a lot of trouble making a boot cd of evox , well read this...
my xbox: ver. 1.0 (thomson dvd (worst by many))
my chip: xecutor 2.2 lite
This is what I USED..
software:
dummy file creator
get it here
simple xISO
get it here
nero 5.0 (or later version)
cd-rw:
memorex cd-rw 4x, 700mb (green pack)
data: evox dashboard folder containing:
-skin folder
-default.xbe (or another name finishing with .XBE) make sure you rename it to default.xbe.
-evox (settings file)
-readme file
here we go!
STEP 1: i created a dummy file with dummy creator (500 mb)
1- click on BROWSE and select the DESKTOP, hit save.
2- fill in 500 then MB
3- enable RANDOM FILE CONTENT and hit create.
ill take a while and create a 500mb notepad! (this is the dummy file)
and rename this file as 123DUMP
drop the file in the evox dash folder
STEP 2: make the image using simple xISO
1- make sure u got all the file in the folder (123DUMP.txt, skins (folder), default.xbe, evox and readme.txt)
2- hit "make an iso"
3- select your evox folder
4- save it on your desktop as IMAGE.ISO
STEP 3: burning it!!! with nero
1- open regular nero (not express)
2- in the middle window that pops up , on your left scroll down to the "CD-ROM (UDF/ISO)" and select it, then hit "new"
3- clic "file" then "burn image..." and select the image you created "IMAGE.ISO"
4- now enable "write" and "finalize CD" put the "write speed" at 2x, and the "white method" at "disc-at-once/96"
5- its very long to write but it worked!!!
i tried many other methods but this is what worked for me! and i hope it works for you too, because i know that you are all anxious to see that xvox dashboard on your tv...i did!
post a reply if it helped you!!
