20gig is no big deal anyway, you'd still want to rip it out and install 120! smile.gif

kids, settle down. Can you honestly explain how someone's mistake on determining the size of their stock xbox hard drive affects your well being? Get over it. Move onto another thread and read something your interested in, or for that matter, help out with constructive posts answering questions/problems without the derogatory comments. This keeps up and nobody will be able to find anything helpful on this board anymore. It's very discouraging.

Isn't this the newbie forum?  I don't think flaming belongs here.

Flaming isn't appropriate anywhere... but did you read the whole thread?   The original poster is the one that is really getting abrasive (along with a few other members).   I am sorry, if my responses correcting infactual information is considered flaming, then what is the purpose of this forum?

OK STFU,
here are my 'details' from my xbox HD....
SEAGATE     U Series 5
16,383 cyl-16hds-63sect-LBA19,541,088
MODEL: ST310211A

You think LBA means Bytes?

The drive has 19,541,088 logical blocks, each containing 512 bytes.

19,541,088 x 512
= 10,005,037,056 Bytes
= 10 billion bytes, or as the HDD manufacturers would have you believe, 10 Gigabytes
Although actually...
= 9,770,544 KBytes
= 9,541.5 MBytes
= 9.3179 Gigabytes

In other words HDD manufacturers quote 1000 bytes per K, everyone else quotes 1024.

Take the LBA and divide it in half to get disk space.  LBA is the number of sectors, and each sector is 512 bytes.  So you have a drive just under 10GB.
