Link to v1.2 mod

You can use the pogo pins and just soldder the "d0" point. Becareful and read some hints on solddering before doing it. Oh yeah if that's too vauge, you need to solder a wire to the Matrix alignment point, and connect that wire to the xbox 1.2 d0 point and solder it.

edit: Yeah and rip out the pin for the alignment point first.

You might have to cool down but it doesn't sound like this person understands that a 1.2 xbox doesn't have the D0 in the same place as a 1.0 and 1.1 and therefore the pogopin will not make contact with it and therefore the XBOX will keep booting from the TSOP.

Unless you redesign the layout of the matrix, you will have to do some soldering to get the D0 connected, period.   Well, I guess you could do what some people try to do... hot glue or tape to connect a wire there but I wouldn't recommend that.

How can you not reconmend that when that's the same thing you do for a X2?, but X2 already has a wire attached to it I guess. I mean yeah if you don't want to solder you might be SOL.

well, isnt the DO the only thing that is moved, so yes you can use a matrix, but u will have to solder the wire that goes to the D0, cant use the pogo shit for this, since DO has been moved smile.gif

so would i have to break of the alignment pogopin and solder a new wire where the pogo pin used to be and take that wire to the new d0, could i leave the other pogopins alone??? blink.gif

Yes leave the other pogo pins alone. And you're set.

Yes, like I said... only the D0 moved and that is the only thing you have to solder or find some other method to connect.

My point is that if you are going to solder that point which is the hardest point of a solder installation and you don't already have a Matrix chip, save yourself the 20 bucks and get an X2 with a bigger BIOS and solder the whole thing in.   Personally i think the D0 is simple and the LPCs can be done blindfolded... wink.gif

x2pro comes wiht switches and a programmer

but u can add siwtches to x2lite very easy. theres 2 pins, take the jumper off them (middle set) and solder a wire from one pin to a switch to the other pin. that'll do it!

btw, lpcs are painless to solder.

and you dont have to break off the pin, you could sand it down or dremel it
