Oh key note, if you have V 1.1 XBox don't be a n00b like me and spend 5 hours trying to get a flashing green light.  You won't.  Just try to get the quick green light flash at power on before it goes to red.

The Best tip is:

Use a Bigger Screw that will solve most of your future alignment problems

Thanks for the screw tip.  Uh huh huh. I've read a lot about the shitty screw they supply you with.

Hahaha.. they dont provide you with a screw, you use the one that is already in your XBox holding the motherboard in.. you replace that one with a bigger one. Just dont expect to get a screw with your chip and come back saying they never gave you a screw..

major major tip. Dont put anything back on before testing the chip. It often thinks it is aligned perfectly but its not. Then test again after putting in the dvd and hd (but before screwing them in!) then one final test after you put the screws in. (test it a few times each time trust me.)

Im STOKED!!!  If everything works out!! jester.gif  biggrin.gif  love.gif  beerchug.gif  pop.gif  cool.gif  smile.gif  laugh.gif  tongue.gif  rotfl.gif

If you have 1.1 PAL the LPC holes are most likely not soldered. You need to fill them with solder or you just waste 6 hours (like someone smile.gif
Also there could be some coating in G-spot (D0) and you need to c a r e f u l l y scratch the surface to get better contact.

Here's what I did to make it 100% sure:

1) soldered the LPC holes
2) soldered tiny "mountain" in D0 so it's little above the surface
3) put some insulation lacquer around D0 so the pogopin just can't get wrong contact
4) used longer and bigger screw
5) used colormod to easy notify when it's working
6) put switch over the dipswitches in matrix (I wish to be sure that it's OFF when going to live)

Also remeber that mode1 isn't working with 1.1 (the test mode). You get single greenflash only in startup if its aligned correctly. Do not bother to try align when xbox is allready on since you get no feedback.

hope this helps

also when you are flashing the modchip, use d6 bios, especially if you have a 1.1 xbox!
