Slight Problem With Retail Games
« on: October 18, 2002, 01:55:00 AM »

Ok... I can't seem to get retail games to boot. The only way I can get them to boot on Evox is by using the Auto-boot Games feature. Is there anyway around this?

Put the disk in the drive and reboot the machine.

If the game does not come up then your Xbox is unable to read the disk you created for whatever reason.

You may be burning the disk incorrectly, used the wrong media, have a bad ISO, have a disk which while burned properly has errors in it due to XISO, etc.

You might want to read the other threads where this is covered.

Damn!

Brain mush again.

Yeap.

On the subject...

Dirty optics, scratched disk or a bad DVD drive will cause this.

Like all electronics the Xbox tends to attract dus onto it's surfaces because of ionization. This can also affect the laser assembly etc... assuming the disk is not dirty or scratched....

Add a third:

Place disk in drive, hit REBOOT from the menu...
