look you don't have to get rude.  I just want to know what to do to my xbox.  everywhere I read it says you can nuke your xbox and this is the only thing I don't want to do.  So far I know I have to install Evolution-X and then hook my xbox to my pc via router or crossover cable and the rest should be straight forward.  but what I would like to know is there a way to back up you xbox hd before you install Evolution-x?  just incase I screw it up... or is it all straight forward as soon as you put Evolution-x into the xbox dvd tray?

load evolution X form a CD first, then use this to connect to you xbox from you PC, then backup everything. THEN install evox on you xbox hard drive.

they pretty much got it, there's so many tutorials, as for flashing you will not need to flash that chip...the only need I've ever found for flashing was to do an HDD swap, once you start playing with it you'll prob want to do that anyways. DVD-R's are sooo much $$$$ that you end up saving money buying a 150 dolla 120 gig....but anyways....don't worry about flashing, the x-ecuter doesn't need to be flashed to do the HDD swap...and read the tutorials, when you get your mod installed just make an Evolutionx iso, load that shit, then do the network thing through flashFXP, chage the .xbe files..and your home free!!! have fun!!!!!
