500.00 for a pretty cover?

Eh, no thanks. I'll stick with those 15.00 "stick on" vynl covers.

Otherwise the Debug kit is only of modest value if modded. 200.00 w/a mod, maybe.

There is some talk about being able to flash the debug box with a retail bios or install a mod chip to get it to run the retail games.

You still have one problem though, the DVD. The DVD in the debug kit doesn't understand the retail format, but it should handle backups that have been NORMALLY burned (not with XISO images, etc.)

No the retail Xbox dvd disks are written and read from in a non-standard fashion.

If you put a PC-DVD in a regular Xbox you loose compatibility with retail releases. E.G. NO retail cd's will work only "ripped" ones.

The DEBUG Xbox has a regular PC DVD type drive in it already. Hence this is one of the reasons it cannot run retail disks. The other is that it cannot handle unsigned code.. though this may be cured with a mod chip or bios upgrade.

When you install the XDK (on the Xbox), it will prompt you to choose whether you want the Retail or Debug version installed. Choose Retail, it should change your bios to Retail

----------------------------

So what i have to do is to D/L the SDK, and then install the Retail Version... with this i will be able to play CD-RW games?
