MS 'xbox Requires Service'
« on: September 14, 2002, 11:54:00 AM »

when you press the eject button, the xbox boots with the original bios. since you have the evox dashboard installed, the original bios tries to load it when it runs but it fails (original bios can't load unsigned files). therefore, you get flashing lights and a service error. to boot with the original bios, you need to either get rid of the evox dashboard, or flash your pc-bioxx with a bios that loads the yboxdash.xbe file...that way you can leave the original xboxdash.xbe, and rename the evox dash to yboxdash.xbe.

garysteen,
You should also note that if you have upgraded your hard drive, you will get that message even if you install the Yboxdash.xbe etc. This is because the original bios will not boot without "seeing" the original stock hard drive first.
