M$ Still Banning?
« on: February 05, 2004, 02:10:00 PM »

I turned my Xbox on with the mod enabled and it didn't have a disk in it. For some reason it went to the xbox live section and logged in. I immediated hit b to go back and shut off the xbox. That was last night. Now today I am getting the message that it could not connect. There was an IP address problem, then it got through that using auto detect. The very last step it came up with the message about not being able to communicate because the software or hardware may have been modified.

It refers you to www.xbox.com/connect . You can call, do interactive chat or send an email. I may try to do the chat or email later. The comment about calling them and getting a disk to fix it and they'll know where you live is BS. If you signed up for LIVE they already know that info cause you had to put your credit card info and address in there.

Has anyone else been banned and successfully got unbanned??? I just paid my renewal Dec. 24th, so this really sucks! You can bet my ethernet cable will stay unhooked until I get ready to play on LIVE if I get unbanned!

You can "unban" yourself buy purchasing a new EEPROM from the buy and sell section of Xbox-Scene. Find a tutorial for how to install it.

Your old Live account should still work.

ALSO - upgrade to the newest Anti-Live BIOS. It will prevent you from accidentally going on Live.

Cuz you didnt configure it NOT to AUTOMATICALLY log in.  You can do this thru the refular M$ Dashboard settings.

I was once banned and have now successfully unbanned myself from using my friends eeprom who doesn't have live.

I dunno about the idea of calling M$ to tell them something is wrong with your Xbox...  <

You must not use live, unless you change your EEPROM the you are unable to create any sort of new acct  <

Because it doesn't ban your account.  It bans your Xbox.  Your account will still work if you try it somewhere else.  <

just a question. Anyone know what MS says if you ask them for a refund then since they banned you from their service that you are paying to use. I would think you would at least be able to get your money back and if not you could probably take legal action. Unless there is something about it in the TOS. I don't have Live so I don't know how all of that works.  <

No - the backup EEPROM is the same as the banned one. MS will view it as a banned EEPROM no matter what.   <

my chip (Xecuter 2.2) doesnt even let me on live if i did try it.  as soon as it goes into 'chip' mode, my numbers (IP, MAC address) reset automatically.  i will NEVER get banned!  <

I think you quoted the wrong person....this guy was answering the other guys question about it automatically logging into xbox live from the dashboard.....you can go into yout settings on the M$dash and set that to no.  <

I have just ordered a SmartXX chip.

Im a bit worried that when i install it and connect it to my Home Network that it will go onto live automatically and get me banned!

I thinking that if that was the case it would be awkard to connect it to my PC for FTP because my network hub is automatically connected to my router and the internet!

If i go into the settings and stop the automatic login now will it definetly not go onto live when there is no game in the drive?

Also, what is this about Anti-Live BIOS?

Thanks in advance
